Wandering Women – Terms & Conditions & Participation Guidelines

By attending a Wandering Women walk, event, or activity, you agree to the following terms.

Our Ethos

Wandering Women is a supportive, inclusive community where no woman walks alone.

We welcome women from all backgrounds and life experiences. Many of our members join us during challenging times, so kindness, respect, and understanding are at the heart of everything we do.

Participation Guidelines (The Important Bits ❤️)

Health & Personal Responsibility

By attending, you confirm that:

  • You are responsible for your own health and wellbeing

  • You will only take part in activities you feel physically able to do

  • You will manage any medical conditions appropriately

Wandering Women organisers and volunteers are not medically trained and cannot assess your fitness or health.

If you have any concerns, you should seek advice from a healthcare professional before attending.

Walk Safety & Risk Awareness

All organised walks are risk assessed to a reasonable level.

However, by attending you agree that:

  • You take part at your own risk

  • You will use your own judgement and common sense at all times

  • You will wear appropriate clothing and footwear

  • You will not take unnecessary risks (e.g. unsafe terrain, weather conditions, or personal limits)

We are a community group, not a guided outdoor pursuit provider.

Insurance & Activity Disclaimer

Wandering Women holds appropriate insurance for organised walking activities only.

Please note:

  • We are not insured for water-based activities (including sea swimming, paddling, or entering open water)

  • Any water activity undertaken during a walk is done entirely at your own risk

  • Wandering Women does not encourage or endorse water entry during standard walks

Where activities are delivered by external providers (e.g. activity centres, zip lines, organised experiences):

  • Those providers are responsible for their own insurance, safety, and risk assessments

  • You will be covered under their terms when participating

Group Activities & Trips

For trips, events, or coach outings:

  • You are responsible for arriving on time and following instructions

  • Any specific safety guidance given must be followed

  • Some activities may require additional waivers or consent forms

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Wandering Women, its organisers, and volunteers are not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation

  • This includes accidents, personal injury, or loss of belongings

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Safeguarding

We are committed to creating a safe environment.

If we have concerns about someone’s safety or wellbeing, we may take appropriate action, including sharing information with relevant services.

Changes to Activities

We may need to change or cancel activities due to:

  • Weather conditions

  • Safety concerns

  • Operational reasons

We will always aim to give as much notice as possible.
